Teaming up to produce and replicate a training video for Wal-Mart’s Speaking of Women’s Health™ Event


Background:

PromoWorks, the nation’s leading provider of marketing services, executes in-store sampling, retail entertainment events and promotions for more than four hundred brands in a variety of industries. It regularly develops programs for the grocery, mass merchant, drug, convenience, home improvement and specialty classes. Recently, PromoWorks became the Chicago Cubs promotional affiliate, hosting mega-sampling events at Wrigley Field.

Challenge:

In the world of promotional event demonstrations, knowledge is power. In order to reach and teach event demonstrators on a national scale, PromoWorks needed a multi-media partner to produce and replicate interactive training materials for Wal-Mart’s Speaking of Women’s Health™ Event. To train demonstrators across the country for a major, single-day event, PromoWorks creates “kits” for each participant, containing a training manual, display materials/components and training video. The video not only had to show the correct way to set up in-store promotional displays for three different types of demonstrators, it also had to portray possible customer interaction scenarios. Ultimately, the video had to be delivered in multiple formats (DVD and VHS) and needed to incorporate original footage, as well as archival video supplied by a third party.

Fusion92 worked with PromoWorks to develop the script, storyboard and production sequencing. The video – shot in-studio against a Chroma-Key green screen – features a host who demonstrates the correct way to set up three different, in-store promotional displays for the Speaking of Women’s Health™ Event in Wal-Mart stores across the country. An introductory segment, recorded testimonials and a conclusion were added in post-production, along with branded backgrounds, titles, captions and a navigational menu system for DVD versions. All segments were posted to a dedicated online website to streamline the client review and approval process. The finished video was replicated and delivered to the client for distribution to the training kits in both DVD and VHS formats. Ultimately, our turn-key services ensured that PromoWorks was able to train event demonstrators in a timely, efficient and cost-effective way to produce a successful national event.
